A New Year’s surprise by John Milne is a wonderful story. It tells us how a girl called Kaya could defeat a robber who had a gun in his hand. And she is only 17 years old! Kaya used her courage and wisdom to beat the robbers. Finally she became a superstar because of her excellent deed. After reading this book, I thought about my life. Sometimes I was brave but sometimes I was a coward. People always have their own weak side. Some people often show how brave they are and how strong they are, but when a disaster comes, they always run away quickly and scream more loudly than any other people. So, we should try our best and show our bravey when something or somebody is in danger.
Something happens out of the blue and you don't have much time to think about it, so remember: whatever anything happens, don't evade it, but treat it as a challenge. Someday you will find you can solve the problem and you are the winner! The novel is very famous in the world, so lot of people like this novel. We also studied it in our Chinese class, Hemingway's novel are always interesting I like his novel much, also in his novel we can learn a lot by his meanings. It’s really a good novel for people to read.

在英语教学过程中普遍存在着学生规规矩矩地坐着，面无表情地看着，单调的带读与重复着，唯唯诺诺地举手的局面。老师与学生之间大都是灌输，而缺少交流，这样教师教得很辛苦，学生也学得很辛苦，但实际效果并不理想，很多学生对英语知识的掌握和运用十分有限。从中得出，我们在教学中很多是无效的或低效的教学行为。这种状况对小学生学习英语极为不利。作为一名小学英语老师，我们怎样改变这种沉闷的局面，使英语教学变得更加有效呢？我在课余时间认真学习了《小学英语教学的有效性研究》一书，有很大收获。
首先我知道了有效教学的含义：有效的教学是用最小的人力、物力和时间达到预期的教学目标。也就是要消耗少，收效高。所谓的“收效”是指经过教师一段时间的教学后，学生所获得的具体的进步或发展。
其次这本书中讲到的提高有效教学的途径，对我今后的教学有很大帮助。
1、激发学生英语学习兴趣。
鲁迅先生说过：没有兴趣的学习无异于一种苦役。没有兴趣的地方，就没有智慧和灵感。兴趣是最好的教师，是最基础的学习动力的源泉。因此教刚接触英语的儿童时，首先要培养他们的兴趣，以各种游戏和其他生动活泼的方式让他们在兴趣盎然的活动中学习英语。
教学中要把握“玩中有学，学中有玩”的原则，依据不同的教学内容为孩子们设计不同的游戏、活动、任务等，使孩子们在不知不觉
的过程中轻轻松松学会了语言。
2、在课堂中采用创设情景的教学方式。
通过创设情景，能使学生仿如身临其境，触景生情，较快进入英语角色，并乐意参与语言的各种实践。在实践中加深理解，熟悉运用和牢固掌握所学过的知识，达到了缓解知识点掌握的难度，让学生感觉到易学而不怕学、甚至中意学的效果。实践也证明，“情景教学法”能给教师的“教”与学生的“学”带来良好的效应。它从根本上提高了英语教学效果。最大程度地培养了学生的英语学习兴趣，能够让教师教得舒心，学生学得轻松。
3、培养学生的听、说能力。
人们在学习语言时大致上要经过如下几个过程，即听音、辩音、观察、模仿、练习、运用。从婴幼儿的语言习得过程来对照外语学习的阶段，最先掌握的是听，听懂领会理解他人的语言；其次是说的能力，在听懂领会理解他人的语言的基础上表达自己的感受、看法和想法。
（1）听的能力的培养。在教学中，播放某一语句或某一词汇让学生仔细听，其目的是让学生集体或个别模仿，重在训练准确、地道的语音和语调；在教学会话时，教师要全身心地进入角色，如有可能，尽量现身说法使学生仿佛置身于实际情景中，从而使学生听懂理解会话语句的含义；在英语学习启蒙阶段，学生不易听懂教师的`课堂用语，这时，教师可以用“TPR ”（Total Physical Response）来帮助学生：如在说到“Stand up ”（起立）“Sit down ”（坐下）时，可以用手语或肢
体语言来表示（手语向上是起立，手语向下是坐下）；又如在学生回答完一个问题或做完一个操练，教师可边说“Good ”边伸出大拇指，如果特别好的说“Wonderful ”，用两只大拇指边说边做，使学生理解、听懂含义；不但要让学生多听教师的语言，更重要的是还要用心倾听他人的发言。课堂教学过程是学生英语交际的主要场合，在这当中有很多听的机会，低年级的学生有意注意较弱，控制时间较短，在听较为单调的词汇、句型时容易走神，因此，在个别学生发言时，教师必须做出明确要求即认真倾听同学发言，找发音错误并纠正。
（2）说的能力的培养。说英语对于低年级小学生而言有一定的难度。因此在尝试着说英语的时候，要遵循低年级小学生的认知规律，循序渐进，不能任意拔高，增加学生说的恐惧感。模仿说是说的起点，教师应重视学生的模仿说。通过大量的模仿说，使学生的舌头不再僵硬，语音准确，语调不再别扭。这是降低说话难度方法之一，也是说的能力中最为低层次的能力，因为它只停留在单纯的模读、模说、机械重复，机械识记的阶段，并没有完全进入交际语言的程度。在教学中我发现许多孩子能把教材中的词汇、句子、儿歌甚至是短文一字不漏的读或是背下来，但是一旦进入真正的交流状态，便显得不知所措，无言以对，这样的孩子不是真正会“说”英语的孩子，因此教师要利用课内外的一切机会，尽量用英语与孩子交流，引导他们用学过的语言表达自己的思想或是交流信息。从简单的问候“Hello！Good morning！到复杂的“What colour do you like？What’s your favourite food？”引导学生用英语思维，用学到的语言表达自己的思想情感，成为真正会
“说”英语的人。
4、创设英语氛围，让英语常驻教室。
有资料表明，人在学习语言时，其视听信息的输入能达到20%。但是，低年级学生英语词汇量较少，用英语交流有一定困难，加上有限的课时及条件，使学生缺乏英语交流的环境。学生在学校活动的主要场所是教室，他们一抬头所见的就是教室的四壁，如果能把教室布置成一个小小的英语世界，学生一进教室，所见的全是英语信息，天长日久，这些英语信息会在无意中进入学生的大脑，为他们将来的英语语言输出做出一些积累。
总之，有效课堂作为一种理念，更是一种价值追求，一种教学实践模式。在今后的课堂教学中，我会更加深入地学习、实践“有效课堂教学”，努力使我的每一位学生都能获得应有的发展。
英语读书笔记9
Wuthering Heights is Emily Bront's only novel. It was first published in 1847 under the pseudonym Ellis Bell, and a posthumous second edition was edited by her sister Charlotte.
After reading Wuthering Heights, the love and the hatred between Catherine and Heathcliff still linger in my head. Wuthering Heights gives me a cold, withering, and lonely feeling; however, at the end the book the author shows us that the human kindness is not diminished at Wuthering heights, even though the wind can break off a tree that doesn’t mean it can break off the whole forest. Even though hatred destroyed Heathcliff , Catherine, Edgar and Elizabeth’s happiness, that doesn’t mean Cathy and Hareton’s happiness.
Actually, there is no such a character I really like in Wuthering Heights, every character seems teemed with agony and animosity, especially Heathcliff. Heathcliff is an orphan before Mr.Earnshaw adopt him, and in the novel, it says that Mr.Earnshaw treats Heathcliff even better than his own son, Hindley Earnshaw. It’s quite amazing that in spite of Earnshaw’s nice treatment, Heathcliff has no gratitude at all, he revenged Hindley and Catherine, even their heirs. After reading Heathcliff’story, my feeling is complicated, although he is the avenger who dominate the whole story by using his vengeful machinations, he is also the most pitiful guy in Wuthering Heights; he doesn’t know what is love and don’t know how to love. Heathcliff has lived with the Earnshaws for more than 10 years, but there is no attachment between him and the whole family except Catherine, but even Catherine who was died because of Heathcliff’s tournament. When he is torturing others, he is also giving himself a suffering.
Catherine, who is the heroine in the book, is described by Nelly as capricious and selfish. She is just like Heathcliff, doesn’t know how to love at all.
Anyways, Wuthering Heights gave me a torment, you can’t see any warm scene in the book, all you see is the fierce wind howled, and wild moor. However, at the end, the combination between Hareton and Cathy seems a hopeful light in the darkness, and the break of the day finally coming!

"The Little Prince" is a clear book, as clear as the water. It’s writes for adults, teenagers and children. It is a book about life and the lives of the fable. As the book said, the water on the heart is beneficial. And "Little Prince" can make people feel warm and fresh.
The story is about a boy. He lives on a small planet. He is the only person of the planet. He is a lonely prince. Fortunately, a beautiful rose came in his life. They loved each other. But a little argument separated them. He left the planet which he lives, starts traveling. He went to many planets and met many different people. He likes to watch the sunset when he was sad. He found that people wanted happiness, but always pushed away happiness rudely.
At last, he understood how to love each other. Love and life is a very important thing. He is very regret. He wanted to return to the planet which he lives. But he didn’t know the road. He chose to drank snake venom end his life because he thought it will be able to cast off his bulky body to go back.
Every time, when I read "The Little Prince", I always moved about it. In real life, we often busy in the whole day, such as a fly without soul. The passage of time, childhood away, we grew up and took away a lot of memories, but we also have an oasis in the heart.
Because ‘The Little Prince’ story, we live in quiet, the heart has a hope and love, have touched on the responsibility of the life.

《英语阅读教学》第八章（也是最后一章）“阅读评价”从终结性评价和形成性评价两个方面讨论阅读评价的内涵、评价方式、评价活动的编制等，让读者明白阅读评价的重要性，并就如何实施阅读评价有了大致的了解。我读后的感受是：关注阅读评价，过程与结果并重。
阅读评价有终结性评价和形成性评价之分。终结性评价主要是考察一定时期内阅读目标的达成情况。期中、期末考试是对学期阅读培养目标的检测，中考、高考是对整个初中、高中阶段阅读能力目标的评价，侧重阅读理解能力的考查，包括主题大意理解、细节理解、推理判断、词义猜测、策略应用、逻辑分析等。在材料的选择方面，中高考必须照顾到不同地域学生的图式差异；期中、期末考试必须关注文本的难度，保证材料话题与学期所学课文话题相关，语言涵盖学期所学的'词语、语法、文本类型、结构等，测试技能应该包括学期所学的主要技能。评价必须尊重学生的主体地位，必须照顾到学生的认知差异，必须采用多元化手段，最大限度地贯彻真实性原则。
形成性评价的目标不是评定阅读目标的达成情况，而是通过对学生的阅读行为的监控、管理、观察、分析，了解学生阅读能力发展的状况，完善教学设计，促进学生能力的发展。形成性评价包括阅读过程、阅读行为、阅读资源的应用、阅读策略的使用、课堂参与等内容，课堂评价应该评价每个环节、每个阶段阅读目标的达成情况。形成性评价不仅要关注课内，同时要关注课外；不仅要关注课前，还要关注课后；不仅要关注结果，更要关注过程。
本章的学习让我们明白：阅读评价是我们了解阅读教学目标是否达成的手段，同时也是发现问题、改善教学、促进学生阅读能力提高的手段。因此，阅读教学必须关注如何评价阅读课堂教学目标、单元教学目标以及学期教学目标的达成。我们不能只重结果，忽视过程，应该过程和结果并重。

我读过很多神话故事，我印象最深的是《夸父追日》。

从前，有一个巨人叫夸父的`，他每天都想：每天夜里，太阳到底去哪里去了呢？我不喜欢黑暗，我喜欢光明，我要去追赶太阳，把它抓住，叫它固定在天上，让大地永远充满光明，所以他要把太阳抓住。
Once upon a time, there was a giant named Kuafu. He thought every day: every night, where did the sun go? I dont like darkness. I like light. I want to catch up with the sun, catch it, fix it in the sky, and let the earth be full of light forever. So he wants to catch the sun.
我读了这篇故事我感受到了夸父对目标充满信心，坚持不懈的精神，他是一种力量的代表。正是因为古人有这些梦想，才使后人去努力实现这些梦想，才有了我们现在科技发达的世界。

课堂是学生获取语言知识、提高语言技能、培养语言交际能力的主要场所，使教师的语言成为课堂教学的工具和学生学习的内容。而我们作为英语老师，感知身上压力更大。因为英语对我们来说更非母语，我们如何才能在课堂上更准确、流利、自信地表达自己的想法？
这一直是我们需要改进提高的部分——教师课堂用语。这本书的出现，真的是能使我们在短期能迅速提高，有据可依的范本。
该书提供了英语教学中最基本最实用的表达句式。part1中介绍英语课堂中常用句式。part2中介绍在指导学生4种技能及词汇、语法、发音时需要用到的表达方式。
第三部分介绍了在运动、游戏、文体活动、团体活动等活动中所需要的英语表达。part4中收录了教师与学生之间常用交流句式。此外，附录还为学生安排了不同主题的常用英语词汇，更有利于师生互动。
而且，经过严格筛选，书中常用词简洁、易懂、实用。英语教学的根本目的不是为了显示教师的.英语实力，所以我们应该避免使用一些晦涩难懂的高级词汇，提倡使用一些有利于教师解释和学生理解的简单句型。而对于不同层次的教学内容和每一种表达方式都会有一些细微的差异，书中包含了许多常用词汇，适用于不同的场合。
看了这本书中针对各种情况下的课堂用语，简明扼要而且用多种句子表达相同或相近的一个指令，真的非常值得我们借鉴学习，越细细地去阅读这本书，越开始对自己的课堂用语进行反思。
在课堂用语的表达中，常常存在一些问题。比如，在课堂中往往表达比较随意，用语不够规范。再则，表达时词汇单调，显得乏味，不能给学生很好的丰富语言的范例。
久而久之，对于学生能力的提升没有正面的帮助。就因为我们知道教师课堂语言的重要性，如何提高它是非常重要的！
什么因素经常影响我们老师的语言？首先，由于教师采用的教学方法不同，每个教师的教育背景和教育理念不同，所采用的教学方法也不同，所以呈现的教学语言也不尽相同。其次，教师的性格，教师的情感也起到一定影响。
此外，学生英语水平的高低也会影响教师上课时间的长短。
怎样可以帮助自己提高这方面的能力呢?首先，还是要规范自己的英语表达，先做到正确无误，不能有中式英语。尽量避免母语的影响。在表达时，句型和语法应吸收更多纯正的英语表达，使他们能在课堂上流利地表达自己的观点。
其次，要简明扼要，根据学生的年龄和知识特点，选择适合自己水平的语言，但略高于学生水平，有利于提高学生的能力。逐渐乃至全部使用英语去讲解新学的词汇，句子等等，让学生使用英语的能力得到提升。挖掘教材中的一些隐性话题，让学生拓展思维，进行互动交流。
再则，教师语言要生动风趣，幽默灵活。在这样的课堂中，教师往往可以运用自己的教育智慧，使课堂更加活跃，消除学生的紧张情绪，为语言交流创造更好的氛围。
然后，教学语言也可和板书，肢体语言相配合。让课堂上的表达更加丰富，让学生更明显、更容易理解自己的表达，更容易相互沟通。
接着，尽量用“积极语言”代替“消极语言”，给学生更多的鼓励与肯定，培养学生的学习积极性。每个人都有一种自卑感，特别是学生回答后，如果他们给他太直接的否定回答，可能会使他产生一种消极的学习情绪，另一种表达方式，可能会对学生产生意想不到的影响。
作为一名英语老师，我们的语言真的很重要。我相信我们应该多学习，多关注自己的课堂语言，这对学生的学习起到了积极的作用，我相信他们会更喜欢学习英语。

“It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.” This beginning sentence of the book seems to tell us the main story of the book is about the marriage of rich men. The heroine of the book is Elizabeth and at the chapter One, we are told that the father Mr. Bennet prefers Elizabeth among his daughters, in this case, Elizabeth must be a girl who is more special and intelligent. The story is about love and marriage. Charlotte married Collins because his fortune and she feels nervous about her age even the man is so old-fashioned and ingratiating. However, their marriage is about money and they do not get the real happy. The other man Wickham is a handsome but a man who is a liar. He lies to Elizabeth to gain her appreciation. And his love with Lydia is shallow and about appearance. The love of Jane and Bingley has a better ending. They have love in the relationship and appreciate each other because of the deeper virtue. But they do come through a lot because the misunderstanding they had before. The love of Elizabeth and the hero of the book Darcy responses the title Pride and Prejudice. In the eye of Elizabeth, Darcy is no doubt pride and arrogant. Darcy falls in love with Elizabeth and proposes marriage to her, but he is still very arrogant so Elizabeth refuses him directly. Darcy feels hard hit and regrets of being arrogant. However, Elizabeth has a prejudice about Darcy at the very beginning and mistaken believes in Wickham but she finally knows the truth and feels shame of her family. Darcy moves Elizabeth with his pleasant virtue in the end.
